Chadwick-Hayes Scholarship

James Chadwick and Julia (Hayes) Chadwick graduated from St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) in 1959 and 1960 respectively. Their time at StFX shaped their personal and professional lives and how they contributed to their community. This award is meant to reflect the opportunity that was given to them by the University and the Xaverian community.

High school students in western Quebec and eastern Ontario are eligible (North Bay and all points east; southeast to Belleville and all points northeast).

A personal interview with the Scholarship Committee is required to determine the final selection. The Committee places emphasis on the student’s overall accomplishments and leadership potential.

In addition to the University application requirements, the following is required and must be received at the University by March 1st.

1. Your resume which includes a full description of
extra-curricular activities, employment experience and
community service.

2. An essay not exceeding 1-1/2 pages describing how
receipt of this award would affect your life.

3. Anything you wish to submit demonstrating
evidence of financial need if applicable.

4. Type written two letters of recommendation from
two high school teachers.

The Chadwick Hayes can be held in addition to a StFX scholarship.
